I have installed a six pack set up on my 1968 GTX Resto Mod. I am having a terrible time setting up a throttle cable for this car. The cables I have bought are square when going into the fire wall. The original cable for the 4 barrel was round with a C clip holding the accelarator cable in place to the pedal assy inside the car. Do I have to change the foot bracket that bolts to the fire wall to make this work I trimmed the accelarator cable and then I could not get the carb to idle down because the play in the cable was too tight. I need to know if the pedal bracket that bolts to the firewall must be changed to accomadate the six pack accel cable? Any help would be great Thanks

Go to pick and pull and get a slant 6 cable off a late 60's car.

Dont know if its relevent to the 68 model? I just swapped a 6barrell into my 70GTX. I managed to just file fit the cable that came in the kit to suit the firewall 'square' hole without too much trouble.

Can a A body slant cable work meepmeep? We have the A body slant here in OZ and might help when'if the time comes to replace etc

cheers Dave

I placed the slant 6 cable on my car yesterday and yes it works. I can adjust idle and I have full throttle wide open. I used the c clip on the pedal assy and it installed neatly. Thanks again

I have used A body 6 cyl cables in my B body.
