I'm looking at selling the old guys future project so he can fund his present projects before he can't do it anymore.

I'm looking for a price range that would be appropriate for this car.

All matching numbers and as far as we can tell it's 99% original.

Spark plugs were out when we got it so we have never tried starting it in case we do damage.

I'm not a car guy but it looks in good shape for a project.

@DeanG Moved this thread to the General Forum for discussion on pricing and options.

When you are ready to sell, and you have established a price, an advertisement can be placed here.

Here's my take:

The silver exterior is a plus, but the green interior & green vinyl is a weird and undesirable combination. Personally, I'd change the interior and vinyl roof to black.
Has a couple decent options.
No mention of it being matching numbers, but we are assuming it does.
Needs a complete restoration including panel replacement.
Spark plugs out = rusty cylinder walls.
Mileage unknown.
You need to say where in Canada you are. If you're close to the US border, it's more salable than if you're deep in the Yukon.

By no means is this a rare car and top dollar for a similar "restore" car with decent bodywork and paint is in the neighborhood of 40-45 grand (US) & you're going to spend every bit of 30 grand + to get this car to be in presentable shape. You may be able to sell it for more, but if I were in the market for a project car, knowing what I know, I personally wouldn't pay more than 5 grand for it. With the amount of time and money that you're going to put into it, one might as well buy one done and save oneself all of the aggravation.

Anywhere from 5k to 8.5k would be my guess based on the info provided. Frame rails, trunk floor, stuck motor will affect those numbers greatly.

Thanks everyone.
There wasn't a lot of data to go off of where I live so I didn't want to underprice the car.
I'm assuming you all are talking US currency.

So taking into account that the car is about 12 hrs north of the border and there are not a lot of these cars I've found up here if I try selling to the local market a decent price to start would be around $15,000 cad.

If the local market isn't worth it what do you think about parting it out and shipping parts? Is it worth it and would I end up getting close to $15,000?

cheaper the better

I have no issue with the colors
but I like green too, many people don't

looks like a decent car to do a project

especially if it's for you
not for resale or parting it out

shipping will be a huge deterrent for costs too
unless you have a huge local market, with $$$
& willing to spend it for used 50 y/o parts

like above said it can be a an expensive proposition

for a 1st time newbie/or novice
I'd say to almost anyone that'd listen, don't be stubborn
or cheap, it will cost you big-time later down the road
Just save a little more $$$ & buy better,
something that requires far less work needed to begin with
you'll be $$$ ahead in the long run
it's best to buy something that runs & drives already
that's complete, little body work needed etc.
make it yours & do some work on it while you can still enjoy it

if you're buying it to keep, learn & have some fun
go for it
if you think you're gonna' flip it & make some cash,
I say don't do it

---------------------------------------------------
to give you an example

I bought my latest 68 RR, Calif car it's whole life
owned by a carpenter, it was rough body wise,
but very little rust repairs, running & driving complete for $6,000 USD
he was asking $7,000, back in Dec. 2005,

I'd estimate/say the same car here would cost probably $10,000,
in the exact same condition today
it was only a little better than the car I see in your photos
it was a more desirable color LL1 Surf Metallic Turquoise
& Black Decore Interior, but just a 383cid, tf727 8-3/4 rear,
all #'s matching
(not that I care if it was #'s matching, it will bring more if I ever choose to sell)

that car (your photos) with a 440, is a bit more desirable engine
the GTX is a bit up the food chain too
finished could bring better $$$, but not by much

this is my 13th RR, 1 of 40+ B-body MoPars I've built & owned
I do all my own work & I have about $20k in it,
IMO it's still not done
well, but it's been driven & enjoyed the whole time,
so I get my $$$'s worth
but it's not really done

this hobby isn't for the faint of heart
If you do get the car
I'd highly suggest you get a year specific Factory service manual 1st thing

good luck what ever you decide
