A lifelong friend passed away recently, and I am attempting to help his widow sell his collection of Mopar cars, trucks and parts. He bought a 68 Hemi GTX in 1977 at the age of 17, and drove it in the summertime until about 1983. It was then garaged, and restoration began at a snails pace while he drove and collected other Mopar muscle cars and parts. The car had all rust issues resolved and was painted a blasphemous non-Mopar shade of silver in about 1990. Trim parts that were removed b4 the paint job need to be reinstalled. It has been garaged and never driven since even before the paint job, but would definitely benefit from a good buffing or light sanding, and there willl probably be some surface rust issues to deal with. To the best of my knowledge, this car was never caged or tubbed. This an automatic car w/ 8 3/4" rear end. Car has the correct vin #s on the dash, core support, and qp. We never found a build sheet, but the fender tag is intact. It will be sold with a rebuilt but never driven 1970 hemi engine. Seats were recovered with correct legendary or year1 material at some point along the way. This car is way too far along to call it a project, but will undoubtedly need a few weekends worth of labor to get it roadworthy again. I am in Chicagoland and the car is garaged in the U.P. area of Michigan. We are in the process of getting this car appraised, but anyone who knows what something like this will sell for is free to add their thoughts. I am in the process of obtaining pix, but the people who live near the storage site of this car are not very adept at using computers.
