would n eddy aluminum CH4B intake be a worthwhile upgrade on a stockish 440 HP rebuild on a A/C application?
 
I should say that this is like the b block intake (DP4B) with the center divider partially tricked out and better runners than factory. I ran the 383 version for awhile and liked it then redid the motor with mods and went to a single plane Torker years later but CH4B on a little warmed over RB block I’ve always liked

Just an fyi as far as stock intakes.

The 2806178 intake was used on all 440 4 barrel engines from 1967 through 1969, on both standard and high performance models. Because of the years and engine this intake was used on, it is considered one of the best "muscle car" intakes.

The 3512501 intake was used on 4 barrel 440's in 1971 only. 1971 was one of the last years before "smog" equipment began to find it's way into intake manifold design, and this particular casting is generally considered to be the best flowing stock intake available. Visually, (port shape & size, etc) this intake has the most similarities with aftermarket aluminum dual plane intakes such as Edelbrock's performer
 
Not sure if it helps at all but below is the link to an old for sale ad with a few comments about the CH4B and some pictures of two of my intakes where I tried to get an idea of height for hood clearance. Not even sure that measuring the way I did had any accuracy. I never ran mine, but the CH4B seems to be pretty popular. I found it to be slightly taller than the aluminum manifold next to it which is a Mopar Performance with a part number of P4532063. Some of my google searches have results that call this intake an M1 but "m1" seems to refer to a myriad of different manifolds.

I just do not understand why guys purchase aftermarket manifolds unless it is to save weight. I have a special Weiand for 440s and 383HP...but the factory setups were performance oriented as far as I am concerned...

RR Fan Dan is correct..and Pontiac made some good factory intake manifolds also..some very very rare...
 
The only gain you will see with an aluminum intake over your stock 69 intake is saving weight. Unless your drag racing I wouldn’t worry about it. I just took a Torker II off my car and replaced it with a 1971 intake. Going for a more stock look.

Debunking the wives tales
They used the 2951736 intake. It is the "RB" version of the 383 intake, used on 440's in 1970 only. They did not use either of the two I mentioned above. Even so it was still respectable and had more max torque than the CH4B. Would have liked them to have used the Chrysler 3512501. Pretty sure the numbers would be same as CH4B if not better.
