1969 B body remote mirror

Im trying to attach my driver side remote mirror on the inside door panel. Missing something after two years. I have the trim nut and the threaded cable hardware.

Mine has a factory zip ty that keeps it from moving around.

You are missing a thin metal push on clip that goes over the treads before shoving them through the door. It holds the assembly to the inside.

Is tha push on clip supposed to be flush with the base of the remote, or maybe close to being flush?

Goes on the back side of the door and sits at the base. No variables if the piece is not defective.
