1969 horn ring roadrunner

Hi new guy here and I am in middle of restoring my 1969 roadrunner and noticed the steering wheel has a horn ring that is complete circle not half like all the others is this a original piece it looks to be original wasn't sure if that was a option thanks

Yes was an option but was more common on fleet (police,taxi) cars
