Runs good for about 30 minutes then starts overheating. Origonal #2949053 radiator. This is a origonal numbers matching mopar. Trying to keep it origonal. Any suggestions. Radiator seems to be flowing right. But haven't had it in a radiator shop. Not many good shops lift. Everyone what's to sell u a new one. Any ideals. 22inch radiator with auto trades. No a/c or power anything. Basic car , no extras.

Do you have a fan shroud? Is the clutch fan in good shape? If the clutch is worn it will not spin faster at higher rpms hence not cool the engine.

I did something last summer that helped my small radiator/big block cooling. I pulled the radiator, layed it horizontal in the sun and filled it with a couple of gallons of 5% vinegar and waited a few hours. Flushed everything and i think it took 10 or 15 degrees out of the engine temps.

i have the original core from my '053 radiator. it has two 1/2" tube rows with 9/16" spacing giving 76 tubes. i can't fathom how chrysler got by with such a miserable combo. pretty sure the 26" radiator, that people wouldn't buy or order, is three rows of 1/2" tubes 9/16" on centers and probably was the minimum for a hipo engine; probably 150+ tubes. i did find a three row core with 1/2" tubes 7/16" on center that gives me 144 tubes and it's barely enough. OER has a 22" radiator that has four rows of 1/2" tubes 9/16" on center; around 150 tubes. it would have to be a major improvement over factory. to use four rows on a 22" radiator the wide bottom tank must be used and there may be a fan clearance issue with the fixed 7 blade fan.

Again.. pure stock, 7 blade fan, runs on the stat.
