Does anyone have information as to what method to use the jack tie down spring. I have the jack and equipment for the hold down for the jack. I cannot get the jack to stay in place does the spring have something to do with keeping the jack in place. What to do, can I get some photos or help??
Thanks
Jim

On a 69? No, there is no spring. The jack tube goes under the flat bracket. Handle goes between the tire and trunk floor. Tire goes down back side up, then the jack base (bottom up), then the hook, then the "wingnut"

How cool that you just posted this info. I refinished my jack last week

and found this thread looking for how it's all supposed to go in the trunk. I'm going to put all the parts in just the way you said except I don't get it about the handle. In my 73the tire sits in the trunk on an angle. You can see where the stud attaches here:

Is yours like that? Do you just kind of wedge the handle under the tire?

Yeah, except for convertibles they all sit at an angle. The handle will sit on the trunk floor with the bend sort of pointing at the trunk latch. The tire rests on the handle (instead of the floor) and holds it in place.
