I want to add an air grabber hood to my 70 rr tribute car. It already has a new replacement hood by previous owner. Has anyone welded in the hood insert? How did it go? Were there directions for hole size and location? Any problems with hood structure underneath when mounting the grabber box?

I’m debating just cutting my hood since it’s already painted vs buying a hood with the insert already installed that would need professional paint/body work. The former sounds cheaper and I don’t have to worry about paint matching.

FWIW, the AMD 70 Roadrunner N96 hood comes with the insert and scoop "door" that you see that closes the hole when the scoop is down.
I got one and it's great.
Other than the paint and decals, this is what I got w/the AMD hood, and it is TOP quality!
