All, after removing the brackets from my front bumper I found a lot more rust pitting and a few through holes. I'm not sure it can be saved; however, when I bought the used fenders in Kentucky last fall, I also bought the bumper & grille assembly he was selling

The Spare has a lot less rust, but when I was comparing I noticed extra holes that I'm assuming are for the bumper guards - which my car didn't have originally & don't seem to be reproduced.

So at least I have options:

1. Fox original- waiting to hear back from Tri-City to see what they think

2. Use the spare & search for guards. I'm not 100% where the other end connects yet. Will I need to modify something else?

3. Use the spare and plug with chrome headed bolts like on the rear (not sure they'd fit yet, but spitballing. I think I'd hate that look and it would bother me forever.

4. Buy new / repro from AMD and be done with it

Questions:
- Are those holes for the guards or something else?
- The repros do NOT have the holes, correct?
- Where do the other ends connect?

As additional info, it is a numbers matching Charger SE 383HP that I'm trying to put back to factory original equipment (no build sheet - so I can take a few liberties if necessary)

Thanks in advance for info & opinions.

AMD bumper does not have the hole. My 70 did come with the guards. 1 year only so you need to know what your buying. The 70 coronet are like the charger but are different. Do a search on our site, there is a thread on this I believe. Its your car so do what you please.

My 70 Chargers both have the front bumperettes. There is the lower steel reinforcement piece as pictured in the illustrations above that bolts from frame rail to frame rail that the bumperettes go down through the front valence and their lower bolt holes attatch to this reinforcement piece.

Exchanged a couple email and pics with Chip at Tri-City. He recommends welding up the holes for the bumper guards on my spare. So once I get the rear bumper disassembled, I'm going to find a day that I can drive up and drop them off there (about 2-3 hrs away).
