Anyone have any idea where to get the clips to hold on the interior door molding on a '70 Coronet R/T? They are metal push on clips the look like a bow tie, and measure about 3 3/16" end to end. The holes in the door are 5/16 diameter.
The molding itself is 2.5" wide.
That was me and they are awesome. I am not sure if he had any left after I bought some. Try him anyway, stuff comes and goes. They are the same clips as '70 GTX door trim.
I had my hands on a box of them at Carlilse last year but the dude who had them was trying to sell a model car to someone and i got tired of waiting and left.
I wound up getting some plastic break off clips. Had to trim them down a little and take a little off the part that pushes into the hole. Took me a few minutes and the work great, and hold the molding tight to the doors and back panels.
Just go on ebay and search "nylon break off molding clips". They are 1" wide and 2 7/8" long. You have to modify them a little, but they work and hold tight. I used a dremel tool to cut them to size. I get mine at a local hardware store. They carry a lot of specialty stuff there. Sanders Indiana Hardware. They are online, but these are all over ebay.
