What’s the trick to removing the glove box knob from the lock mechanism?

Some have a tiny hole to insert a paper clip or something similar to release.

It’s a super butt pain but the procedure is in the fsm. I can’t recall it off the top of my head but there is a small tab that is hard to access that you push down. It has to be either cocked or uncocked to come out properly but again, the fsm explains it.

Maybe I'm drunk but that picture looks backwards to me. 1970 what RC?
Why is the knob on the inside of the lid?

That lock is for later models with no key, but I found a video that explained how to take out a lock that has a key, but when I tried it, this happened.

I did see the video indicated he was working on a ‘73. I didn’t know there was a key/no-key difference here, in particular when they appear nearly identical.

Mine was a key type from a ‘70 Coronet.
Wish I was at home with my FSM and I could be of more help.

That’s it. I didn’t have a key, and the tumbler was a bitch to get at.
