Years ago I read an article on that in MOPAR Muscle or similar, but it was a 3/4 vinyl top.

From what I remember, it was a good idea to get one that ships rolled up rather than folded. IIRC, Year One stopped shipping them folded when some guy kept ordering and sending them back. Folds put creases in that are difficult/impossible to get out.

Yes, you can install with glass in, you will be trimming it back after the parts you want to keep are glued to the roof.

Need a center line, long axis of the car, along the roof. Need to trim the rear of the vinyl a bit proud. Then a center line on the bottom side of the vinyl and cut a shallow notch at the back and front to line it up. Your center line in the vinyl will be half way between the stitched seams (I hope your top has this detail).

Laying the vinyl out in the sun to soften it up before installing was in there too.

Fold softened vinyl along the center line, apply adhesive to one half of roof, and carefully lay and smooth the top down on that half of the roof. I forgot how forgiving the adhesive is at this stage. Once that half is good, apply adhesive to other side of roof and slowly roll/work the vinyl onto that side.

After everything sets up, trim off remaining excess.
