1973 B-Body seat belt removal

Seems like a dumb question but how do you get the shoulder belt covers off the bracket of a 1973 Charger SE? It looks like they should slide off but that is not happening. What is the trick to removing them? HELP!!

There is a metal tang that needs to be depressed using a small flathead screwdriver while sliding the plastic cover backwards.
