I am installing a factory tach in my 74 Runner.

It had a ralley dash with no tach originally.

I have a complete gauge cluster with a tach in it, which I want to install.

I am wondering if the factory wire for the tach is burried in the harness some where?

I see a wire in the bulkhead connector where the tach wire should be but cannot find it in the dash loom at the the gauge cluster.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Also what type of connector plugs into the candelabra? A standard bullet connector doesn't work.

Thanks

its a separated harness from the main one.

what color of wire you see on bulkhead?

on 74s with AC the ONLY CAVITY LEFT EMPTY, no matter which other equipments/options the car got, is one on the NSS harnes section. I personally used it for the tach although it should go through the firewall with a grommet.

Dunno if heater cars used that cavity for the blower source

AC cars got a grommet for the blower and clutch wires.

Engine and forward lighting harnesses got every cavity full on 74s due the interlock system... Earliers were a bit diff
