2025 16th Annual FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" Game - Are You Ready?

Congratulations to 'Back in Time' (FABO), 'memike' (FABO), 'ocdart' (FABO), 'Pecos Bill' (FBBO), 'Unconventional' (FABO) and 'Yunick13' (FABO) for correctly picking #88 Shane van Gisbergen, to win the Go Bowling at The Glen. Each of them picked up -5 bonus points.

Nobody included race runner-up, #20 Christopher Bell, in their race picks so no runner-up bonus points awarded again this week.

'Yunick13' (FABO) had the low net score honor for the week with
-5.0 points.

#17 Chris Buescher was the race leader at the end of Stage 1, #48 William Bowman was in 2nd place.
#12 Ryan Blaney was the race leader at the end of Stage 2, #24 William Byron was in 2nd place.

As a reminder here's a quick explanation of what the above numbers represent:
(your score before the race) race pick car # (Stage bonus points) (race pick car #) (Stage bonus points) (race pick finish position) (race pick finish position) (race winner/runner-up bonus points) (your score after the race)
Please let me know if I show either your Pole or Race picks incorrectly or if you have any questions.

Please post your picks for the next race and let me know if you want to "lock" them in for future weeks. I will put an "L" before either your Pole pick or your race picks to show they've been "locked".
As always, you can always make different picks each week. Your "locked" picks will always be there should you forget to post your race picks, your computer malfunctions or the site should go down temporarily.

Don't forget to get your picks for the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, VA, posted before the green flag drops at approximately 7:45 PM EDT (4:45 PM PDT) on Saturday, August 16.

Cup practice session and Cup qualifying schedule:
There is one practice session scheduled at 4:30 PM EDT (1:30 PM PDT) on Friday, August 15. Cup qualifying for the Cook Out 400 will immediately follow practice at 5:40 PM EDT (2:40 PM PDT) on Friday, August 15.

@Riverdawg, @Pecos Bill, FYI over the past couple of races (Brickyard 400 and Iowa Corn 350) there were two instances where picks were not posted by a couple of long-time FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" game players. Another long-time player posted his opinion that a one-time per race season "mulligan" should be available.
I always listen to player opinions so I offered several options and asked for responses. After consideration...

The NASCAR "Pick 'Em" game players have spoken - here is my proposed compromise and the reasons for it:

Not every player responded, but I took into consideration all of you who did respond.
While not unanimous, the overwhelming consensus opinion was to allow a one-time "mulligan" for missed driver picks.
I also took into consideration that a carryover is allowed in the NHRA "Pick 'Em" game for the regular portion of the NHRA season, but not for the Countdown/playoff portion of the season. There is also a bonus point penalty associated with a driver carryover in the NHRA game.

For the NASCAR "Pick 'Em" game...

  • A one-time "mulligan" was extended to both 'Back in Time' for the Iowa Corn 350 and to 'cuda20' for the Go Bowling at The Glen
  • Their driver picks from the previous race (the Brickyard 400 for 'Back in Time' and the Iowa Corn 350 for 'cuda20') were carried over to the next race and the points posted for the carried-over driver finishes
  • However, any bonus points for the carried-over drivers were not included as a penalty for not posting driver picks on time
  • This one-time "mulligan" is allowed for all other "Pick 'Em" players but only for the remaining two races of the regular season: the Cook Out 400 at Richmond and the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona.
  • The "mulligan" will not be allowed for any of the races in the Playoffs
Following are the updated 2025 NASCAR "Pick 'Em" game standings:

Yunick13 (FABO) 163.5
cuda20 (FABO) 181.0
MeMikieJr (FABO) 214.0
memike (FABO) 238.5
ocdart (FABO) 243.5
fishmens67 (FABO) 259.5
alsant (FABO) 271.0
Back in Time (FABO) 275.5
Unconventional (FABO) 303.0
Sublime one (FABO) 331.0
Riverdawg (FBBO) 332.0
44070dart (FABO) 343.5
Pecos Bill (FBBO)
697.5

Please let me know if this causes any "heartburn".
Thanks!

No Pole bonus again this week.
#60 Ryan Preece and his 22.244-second lap was quickest around Richmond Raceway.

A mulligan is fine by me. I’ve missed at times in past years so I know what they mean. Let change to 11 and 48 for this weeks race.

Nobody picked #3 Austin Dillon to win the Cook Out 400 at Richmond so no -5 race winner bonus points awarded this week.

Congratulations to 'Riverdawg' (FBBO) who was the only player to pick the race runner-up, #48 Alex Bowman. He picked up
-3 bonus points
this week.

'Riverdawg' (FBBO) also had the low net score honor for the week with 3.0 points.

#45 Tyler Reddick was the race leader at the end of Stage 1, #23 Bubba Wallace was in 2nd place.
#23 Bubba Wallace was the race leader at the end of Stage 2, #99 Daniel Suarez was in 2nd place.
