Been thinking about a 22T floor jack. Considering giving Harbor Freight another chance and maybe buy it from them. Has anybody here bought one and/or have any thoughts about theirs? There are several reviews on them, they seem to be about split on Yes, they're good and hell no, don't buy one. I know this is overkill for a B body, but we're also farmers.

44,000 lbs is a lot
Do you need to jack-up a loaded transport truck or heavy tractor

I'm guessing that you are talking about this. http://www.harborfreight.com/22-ton-airhydraulic-floor-jack-61476.html
My take on buying tools at Harbor Freight is how often am I going to use it and how reliable does it need to be. If I'm going to use a tool pretty regularly, I'm going to spend the extra $ and buy a better tool. If I'm only going to use it a few times, then I might try to save a few bucks and go cheap. Safety is a big consideration with tools like jacks, so I think I would spend a little more and get a better quality tool. JMHO.

wow! gonna take a whole semi to deliver a 22,000# jack!

gonna take another truck just to push it around the garage!!!!!

That's funny. But like I say I am also a farmer with a need for some heavy lifting. It gets a little tiring holding a tractor up with one hand and changing a tire with the other. I have more stories if you would like to hear 'em.

I've had pretty decent luck and some pretty crappy luck with Harbor Freight China made jacks but on the other hand, I've never had bad luck with American made jacks. Yeah, you can probably buy 3 HF jacks for the price of 1 American made unit but I'm kinda tired of needing to use something and have it not work. Never had one to fail quickly at least....any one ever had total failure with any HF jack? I'm talking about one that failed and dropped the load quickly.

Not yet. They only ones I have tho are 1500# and the 12 T on the press. Any hydraulic jack will go if you overload it.

I will NEVER buy anything again from China Freight................. oops I meant HF.

The spot welder I bought from them crapped out after only about 30 welds. They wouldn't take it back because it was no longer under warranty. It didn't matter that it sat in the box for most of the time it was "warrantied".

That was my first and LAST purchase from them.

Just my 2 cents..........................
