SOLD 230 casting 400

I have a big block 400 that is a 230 casting.

This is a standard bore at 4.34". It will need to be bored for the rebuild as there is a ridge at the top of the bores. Comes with the main caps. Also has the stock forged crank and dampner if you want them.

casting date 9-28-71 (I believe)

The stamping on the ID pad are:
H 400
10 222
HP

$500 firm.

It has not.

I am willing to work with an interested party to have it checked. If someone will buy the block after I put the money into having it hot tanked and magnifluxed I will get it done. I would add that cost to my asking price though. I just called the machine shop (Moritz in Tulsa Oklahoma) and they want $... they where closed when I called at 4:30. I will call in the morning to see what they will charge.

If it is cracked I will be eating the cost of the magnifluxing and hot tanking. I just don't want to drop the money into the block when I am not ready to build it without a trully interested party. At this time I am going with the 440 that is already in the car instead of a 451 I had planned with this block. I am selling this block to help fund other aspects of my Charger

Moritz wants 100 bucks to clean and magniflux the block. If you will pay $500 for it (after it is checked and is not cracked) I will have it done and pay for the cleaning and magnifulx. If it is cracked I am SOL.

I am not looking for the 500 up front. I just want to have a buyer of the block after it is checked out and comes back good.

The block is loaded up. I will have it cleaned and magnifluxed so we will know it is worth having and isn't going to turn into a coffee table.

For Sale 230 Casting 400 Updated

I just heard back from the machine shop and the block is now clean and has been magnifluxed with no cracks found. They are checking the bores to see what needs done to the block. Once I have this information and pic the block up I will take more pics and post.
