What wheels are you using? Wheel width and backspace are critical. The rears are easy, an 8" wheel with a 4 1/2" backspace will work well with a 275/60-15.

Fronts are different. You cant use more than a 4" backspace on the front of a 3rd gen. More than that and the wheel will contact the upper control arm. A 7" wheel on the front is best. It will have no more than 4" backspace. Pick a tire that will look right on a 7" wheel.

I had 255/60-15 BFG's on a 7" wheel and the tire was way to wide, didnt look right. The tire looked like it was reaching way in to stay on the rim. I went with 225/70-15's instead, and it looks good, just 1" shorter than the 275 on the rear.

I have 255/60-15 on 7" Rallyes ( 3.5" BS I think ? ) all 4 corners and I like the look

Something else to consider. Tire sizes are not all the same among brands. The BFG 255's are wider then say a Cooper 255. I had both tires in that size on the front of my 72. The Cooper did not have that streching out look like the BFG did.

Another example, the little 49 Plymouth hot rod I just sold had cooper 255/60-15 on the back. I replaced them with BFG's of the same size. The BFG rubbed the inner wheel well where the Cooper did not. Had to do some hammer work to get them to fit.

I have 275/60 in the back on 15x8 4.5 BS, on the front I am running a 15x7 with 4.25 BS with 225/70 (To do it again I would have used a 3.75 BS both front and rear wheels, and ran a 225/60 front tire)

Mine with 245-60-15's on 15x7 up front. 275-60-15 rear on 15x8,
