318 poly rebuild

My Moparmate in the UK went the 'extra mile' with his 318 Poly.
He has a 65 Poly Fury and its now a 402ci Poly-Fury.

4-inch bore and a 4-inch stroke.
The Poly block takes a PLUS 90 thou. with ease!

This stuff can be done you just have to put your mind to it...

Just a thought for the poly guys.. the Canadian poly is a 313. Which is .030 underbored.. if you can get a virgin block you could bore it and use your original 318 pistons.. it's a theory, I've never tinkered with polys

As with all rebuilds, first 'port of call' is pistons!
What's out there and can I afford them?

Most custom builds are with custom made pistons and now we are talking expensive.
After that its a custom grind camshaft, can you find a big enough blank to start with?

There is talk of aftermarket Aluminium heads for Poly's, how much I wonder?
Its all about 'bang for your buck' and Poly builds are for diehards only I feel.

Lets wait and see if the Poly market kicks in after the ALI heads turn up...
