I have the distributor from my old 318 block. Will it fit a 1967 440 block?

Pretty sure the shaft is the wrong length.... it's wrong for a B engine too, if i remember right.

OP asked about a 318, so reply 4 is correct.

I deleted my post as I am a moron and thought it said 383 and 440.

More than that. They also turn the opposite of each other.
IK.... I thought about that, but not sure how it would make any difference?? Oiling??

The rotation affects how the vacuum advance works.

Take a look at the mechanical advance too.

Everything together.

-diff shaft length
-spins on opposite direction. This makes vacuum and mech advance diff too

Rotor, cap, reluctor and pickup coil are the same thought.

diff housing too (To accomodate the right vacuum pod)

Ha, ha: I built a 426 Hemi display engine out of junk parts. When I have Mopar friends over I see if they can pick out the fatal flaw of the display. Yep, SBM distributor, it fits in the hole alright but smart guys pick out the vacuum can immediately.

Pretty sure the housings are the same, CW or CCW rotation.
