360 596 vs 974 heads??

To my untrained eye these two head castings look about the same. Are there any differences between the two?
 
Anybody? One has smog holes under the intake ports. Other than that they appear the same.
 
no performance difference one's a smogger with holes you can tap them and put set screws in them
 
That’s what I was thinking. The smog holes don’t appear to open into the head. Maybe they are just clogged. I’ll plug them.
