Is there much of a difference between a 1970 383 and a 1965? When I bought my Satellite, the seller also threw in a 383 engine. I haven't gotten around to doing anything with it yet, other than disassembly. If I remember correctly, it was missing the water pump and timing cover. I'll check to be sure. I really don't know what I'm going to do with it. I think my plan is to rebuild it and then find something to put it in.

not sure of much difference, when it comes to the front of the motor, with the water pump housing, they could have come out on both sides, find someone that has a 383 out of a 1965 and get the casting numbers, and look for those parts in pacific, i am not exactly knowledgable on interchangable parts

Later model engines had the pump housing suction on the left...the earlier engines on the right but forgot exactly when the break year was. 72 I think?
