Hello friends, ive got a 66 coronet 440 383 4 speed that ive shared on here before. i ended up deciding to redo the driveline and im getting stuff assembled after getting the motor back from the machine shop and ive got some questions now that im degreeing the cam. the motor is a 30 over 383 with 2315f pistions .019 deck clearance. 516 heads milled .007 all redone. i got a mancini purple shaft grind .474 lift cam. adv duration is 280, at .50 is 234 and lsa is 110. the car has 3.23 gears. the cam did not come with a cam card for recommended icl installed but from what ive read online is 106 is a happy numer for a good street motor for this cam. my issue is i got a 3 way adjustable timing set, installed straight up is 110 ICL. the advanced slot is 102, and the retarded slot is 118. double checked all work and came up with these same numbers. i did some experimenting and i found that if i install it on the retarded slot and offset it one tooth im able to get a 103.5 ICl, this is the closest i can get to 106 with this timing set. Would 103.5 ICL have a noticeable difference in performance? or does anyone have any info on if 106 is the best number to shoot for for this cam. im off work for the next 3 days and was really hoping to get some good work done on this but this has been a roadblock. TIA!
