383 HP Engine Paint | Question?

In '65 your engine color would have been turqoise.
 
could it from POR 15 the Chrysler Turquoise 62 - 71?
I wonder about the NOT HP.
My Satellite has a HP Engine.

In your case the HP block doesn't matter, they didn't start painting the HP blocks orange until '69
 
I have never used por 15 so I can't say if it's good.
PPG delstar is great for motors.
 
I have used POR 15 for an engine and it seems to work better by brushing than it does spraying. I'm pretty sure you should prep the surface by degreasing followed by the acid etch stuff (metal ready) so you get good adhesion.

Turquoise is correct thru 68 but I don't know exactly when Chrysler started using it.
 
I got some engine paint in spray cans from my local NAPA store. It was marked as a Detroit Diesel Green. Matches my old four bolt valve covers almost perfectly. Remember though that the valve cover paint is almost 50 years old. Just thought that I'd pass this on.
 
personally i like the mopar engine paint goes on nice and holds up good thats my vote.
