I picked up two four speed transmissinos today, ones an aluminum, the other is a cast iron that i'm really excited about. Are there numbers on tboth cases somewhere that will tell me exactly what I have and what it came out of???
Thanks,
Dan.

the numbers will be the part of the vin from the original car. input spline, tail shaft, bearing retainer size, as well as pulling the side covers will tell you what you have.

Thats what I want to know, what they came out of.

shifter mount is on left front of tailshaft but also has location towards end of tailshaft for another shifter, but it's not drilled or tapped

the first one is out of a 1968 lynch road plant built car. sorry I can't help on the alm one, possibly a feather duster. but that is a guess on my part.
