Can anyone give me a good place to get a 4 speed rebuilt? Preferably about 120 miles around Fort Wayne Indiana. Thanks

They are an EXCELLENT source for automatic transmission parts. IF they don't do 4 speeds, perhaps they can recommend some one near you.
BTW....PASSON Performance is another Excellent source but they are in Pennsylvania.

Does it require any specialty tools?

like hemi bee and others here I did mine myself as well very easy task and no special tools other than a length of 3/4” emt conduit for installing the needle bearings in the counter gear and installing it in the case. You will need a press to remove and install the bearings.

I bought a rebuild book off Amazon from passion performance and a rebuild kit from Brewers. As mentioned, a arbor press is nice but you can creative on pressing the new bearings on the tail shaft.

Don't lose the roller bearings... they like to hide in hidden places. Especially after they all come falling out like marbles. Don't ask me how I know that.
