I just bought a complete non running 78 440 motor home engine and trans for $350. As it turns out it runs very well. It was a steal. I have been seeing B and RB engines that you can hear run range from $500 up to $1000 and more. Non running engines from a couple hundred for a basic core thats missing parts, on up.
I've paid $1000 for a running 400 w/transmission and some performance goodies and one time I found one sitting on the curb for scrap metal, even offered the guy 20 bucks for helping me load it into my truck with his engine crane, he wouldn't take it lol.
I got both of my 400’s running in a complete running and driving car. A ‘76 Doba for $400. That was the bill owed to the shop. Thank you Mr. I ain’t got no-moooney! A ‘78 Doba for $800. A P code Cordoba with P/S and HD trans cooler mounted in front of the radiator. Also a 9-1/4 rear now equipped with 3.55 sure grip.
Those cars donated tons to my other car and I sold the rest off to nearly get my money back. I could have held out for more part selling but I have no real patients (sp?) having half picked apart cars on my property.
Most unless your into Mopars don't realize how desirable they actually are so typically they don't sell for a lot. $200-400 is in the ballpark, I traded the factory A/C box out of my Charger for mine and it wasn't really pretty.
