Hi,
What is this pad telling me?
Block is 100366 casting, and was .030 over when I got it...
Hope you can help me.
Thank you, Stefan

Hi,
I have a 70 Block in my 70 Bee
The important numbers are on the side of the block

The date code and block casting numbers are found on the left side of the block.

2468330 1964-1971 426 Hemi

I'm sorry but I'm not too sure at this point on your "PAD" stamping, I forgot quite a bit over the years
I believe the XH is HEMI

Ok, I´m not sure I understand what you mean by important. Those numbers you mention are very obvious, but what´s on the engine pad is very interesting I think. And I´m not sure it is an X, looks more like two arrows pointing towards each other, sort of Maltese Cross maybe... than an H...
And now the block is .060 over, so I thought of mark it correct. See if we can get any help :)

To me
The DATE is important (ON LEFT SIDE)
And the Block (Sequence) number is important (ON LEFT SIDE)

WHY would these numbers be important:
Simply put, the DATE correlates to the "Correct Engine" for the car
As in "Original" or "Correct Date for car"
And sequence number actually "fits the car"
Perhaps you did not know this?
So, yeah, the Important Numbers are on the left side of the block
No such thing as a Maltese cross
Too funny!

-So: Go do your own research

I just learnt something
So sorry

Thank you "Kid"

But is that factory?

Is there anyway to save "FACE" for me on this thread?

Stefan, my apologies, I simply mis-read everything you posted.

The Maltese Cross is indeed a factory stamping.

As for the OP:

W is the series
H is Hemi
441 is ci (should, obviously, read 426)

There should also be a build stamp:

(EG) 8-9-44

Month - Day - Engine built this day.

Maltese Cross:

M-2-3 are main journal or R-1-4 are rod journal .001" under.

Maltese Cross + X:
M-10 or R-10 .010" under on main or rod respectively.

A:
.020" over on cylinder bore
◇:
.008" over on tappet
O.S.:
.005" valve stems

Thank you, good info here...
I have reason to believe this block is an over the counter piece. But what about the letters F and T on the right side of the pad, and numbers 2 and 5?
Also the marking at the left of letter H
Thanks

All the information I posted is straight from the FSM. Anything outside of that, I can't help you.

Ok, thank you anyway :)
I think the markings on this pad might be of some sort of "in official" markings. And the number 2 and 5 is gonna be hard to decode.
Lets se if someone else shims in here...
