I’ve been staring at the 426 wedge in my pile of cores and considering that the next build. However, piston availability seems to be limited these days. It is a 65’ industrial marine engine that has been blasted and fluxed many moons ago. Has to be sonic tested but id be willing to bet it has plenty of cuttable material in the bores. Go to a stock 440 size? I have a set of 915’s ready to bolt onto it that we’re run a short time on my 413.

What’s everyone’s thoughts?

My max wedge had .060 pistons in it, that were sloppy as heck, honed it a bit, put standard 440 pistons in it, piston to wall went from .014 to .005. Ran much happier.
If the sonic checks out (on an industrial block, I'd be surprised if it doesnt) yep, I'd run standard 440 pistons in it (+.070).
However! If it's still 4.25, I'd probably have some custom .030 pistons made.
(I wonder if 440 source has a stroker kit with pistons for a 426 wedge?)
