I found a 1964 engine and trans that I believe is a miss match of parts.
Any help from veteran would help. I am not too computer savvy at 64. ThereforeI have photos and email but do not wish to beat the purpose of this forum. Ijust never replied or know anything about forums in all my years. My name is Geary ........................ Please do not post Telephone numbers or email addresses here as per site rules. Hi and welcome aboard!
Thanks for joining the forum.
Seems like you found a nice GEM?

PS: Gary, per forum rules and your safety, please edit your post.
The forum does not allow telephone numbers and address.

Welcome, Geary. That's a 1964 426 street wedge block. The V is for '64 and the 42 means 426 (the 6 wasn't stamped on them, just the 42). The casting numbers for the street wedge and max wedge blocks are the same. In fact, the only real difference between the blocks is the presence of valve reliefs (notches). The max wedge blocks had different stampings on the engine pads, too.

Hi Geary, welcome! You ought to head on over to the 'welcome forum' and let everyone know you're here. :)

Are you sure of the numbers on the cylinder heads? They should be 7 numbers long, if you have 2843906 those were used from 68-70. The intake number is a 67-69 piece. You can look up some of those casting numbers http://www.mymopar.com/intakecastnumb.htm and http://www.mymopar.com/headcastnumb.htm

Gearry, My fellow wisconsinite is correct. You have a 64 street wedge. FYI. street wedges have no factory notches. The stamping would say 42.. a 383 would have 38. A max wedge would have 426 HP.. A street wedge has 3/8 oil pick up. Max Wedge has 1/2 oil pickup and I believe the max wedge blocks actually had a higher nickel content. Nice find!!!

My Street Wedge Distributor Boss Number Has The V42 And An A HP? 65 Plymouth Terry's Street Wedge 5.jpg

Yes, the street wedges have HP stamped on them, too.

Max wedges stamped MP and font style is different from memory but I am old.

That's what I thought, too. MP stands for Maximum Performance, if I'm not mistaken.

The only Max wedge engines that had HP was the 413 Max wedge with block casting #1852029
