My Crank pulley does not seem to fit..it is a 4 groove, 7 1/4 inch diameter that when using a 5 3/4 diameter water pump pulley barely has enough room to slip the alternator belt between the two.
I do not have a/c.. just power steering. The pulley(s) are too far back and i will shim them forward, just wondering if this setup is normal for a 440.i have seen where it was said that motor home engines used this setup..do any of you have a pulley like this on your big block or should it be a 2 groove ?? All 4 are the same diameter .

Do you have a steel crank damper or a cast.
As I recall they take different pulleys.
You should find correct 2 row pulley for 20 to 25
and it would be a lot cleaner than shims.
