This has been talked about in the past but what is the latest solution? The attached photo shows the standard location for the temperature idiot light sensor in the water pump housing. Using a new temperature gauge with the big probe on the end, where are you guys locating the threaded hole for the new sensor?? Thanks in advance.

Should be a larger plug in on the other side of the pump housing....
 
If I'm reading your casting number right it's an early non-AC housing and it doesnt have the extra port on the other side. I have a similar one.

You could either drill and tap the housing for a temp gauge fitting or get a later 68 and up housing with the port there from the factory.
 
Or get rid of that heavy chunk of cast iron and get an aluminum one.
 
Im in need one one of those temp sensors-Where to locate one- Mopar or aftermarket ?
Anyone have a part #
