Placed my first order with 440 source and im not too impressed...

I ordered a brand new chrome timing cover and it came completely covered in fresh pitting rust.

Is there a better place to buy stuff for our motors? or did i just happen to draw a short stick. Kind of annoying after waiting 2+ weeks for an order to arrive.

EDIT: The Missing gaskets were tucked between two extremely thin pieces of cardboard that just looked like 1 solid piece of backing. So just the timing cover issue.

Ya know, I never thought of that. Maybe im better off just returning it, sandblasting my Factory one and painting it.
Bought a dipstick and tube that were chromed from a reputable mopar vendor.
It didn’t take long for the chrome to start flaking off the stick.

Their 'made in the USA' line of stuff or in house stuff
all seemed pretty damn good

I haven't bought much from them since the last
2 479 383/0.040" over 4.290" x 4.15 stroker builds
Never any parts failures
I pushed stuff hard too

I don't buy dress-up or chrome or polished stuff from them
I get most that stuff from Summit Racing or Mancini Racing
I try to buy American when I can

I was extremely hard to get good USA parts for a while

I did have some of the Chinese made castings of their Stealth heads
back 2005-ish (?) I had fully ported
& shitty head-gaskets that went into the shitty combustion chamber design
& burned up/torched a head pretty bad, hot spots while on N2O
they made it good though too, it was a flaw, I got the castings replaced free
I was surprised, very happily...
Their valves in those heads were (are) junk too, a lot of horror stories about them
easy enough to get 'good USA quailty' made aftermarket valves & springs
that didn't break, as easily...

I had to do all the porting & valves, springe etc. again,
I roughed them in & had a buddy with a flow bench clean them up, perfect
(RIP Mark Rowe)

I quit using the 'cheap foreign Stealth heads' for my street/strip cars,
when the Edelbrock RPM heads or Victors came out for the BBMs
much better middle of the road price-line heads, far better all USA made parts,
& a better bang for the buck, flow much better out of the box even un-ported,
& really good after they'er ported
anyway
for a while there there wasn't a bunch of good parts for our BBM,
from anyone
unless you spent thru the nose for them
& they were still marginal at best
in the past 10-12 years parts for our BB MoPars have come leaps & bounds
even some more affordable good parts

I've built like 4 stroker engines with or from them 440source, Made In the USA stuff
some 2 IIRC when it was still ran by the old owner
& 2 the new owner after they moved,
it was way better service & quality of parts, after the move

good luck
