It looks like the hinge pins were pressed into the seat frame at the factory, so before I screw something up, has any one pressed out the pins? And how did it go? Thanks

The pins have a press cap on the end should be inside - side of hinge. There is a rubberized covering over the pin that surrounds it which you carefully pull outward to expose the cap and then preferably use a snap pin removal tool used for removing door panels to pry the cap off or use screw driver working around the cap brim. Don't force it or may bend the cap. Once the cap is free slide it out from behind the hinge cover. The caps go back on by pressing them back on or just light tapping with a small hammer.
