I’m on the lookout for a nice ‘entry level’ Mopar. This will be my first classic car - any help in the search or advice is greatly appreciated. I put together a fairly broad list of what I’m interested in; something I can drive and work on (body/paint condition is very important). My limit is around 15K, might be willing to go higher, not sure how reasonable my budget is...

Convertible, or Two Door Hardtop
Console – Auto or 4 Speed
Big Block 383+ (Ideally 440, 413/426 Wedge)

Dodge
330/440 ’63-64
Polara 500 ’63-64
Coronet (440/500/RT) ’65-67

Plymouth
Belvedere ’63-67
Satellite ’65-67
Fury ’63-66

Thanks,
Dominic

66 Coronet 500

I have a 66 Coronet 500 I am trying to finish. Fresh factory silver paint, new black vinyl top (not installed), completely rebuilt stock looking 440 w/ MP 486 cam, rebuilt 4 speed, new Hurst console, mint 66 4 speed console, Pearl white seats and door panels, black carpet (all not installed yet, factory AIR CONDITIONED, NEW chrome 5 spoke wheels/tires. All done underneath - NEW - gas tank, shocks, brakes, suspension, brake lines and hoses, fuel lines, engine comp. was painted silver, all painted underneath, door jambs and doors silver inside, new trim on exterior. 2 grilles - one mint. Extra tail lites. All new weather stripping, sill mldgs, rocker panel mldgs. No bumpers yet, no hood mldg or trunk trim. All else there and either new or redone. Slowly getting reassembled. Will sell as-is or completed. Over 15, 000 invested so far. Make a fair offer and you own it. I know I am going to loose money on this, but I have too many cars at the moment and must make room.

Member DetMatt has some NICE and reasonably priced project cars in MI.

With your budget, you may be able to afford one of his, and a good deal of the restoration work.
