Hi Guys,

I’m looking for some advice I need to replace my rear springs on my 64 330 440 4 speed. I’ve been looking on the Mancini web site and they list several options.

Super stock 3600 & 3800# in addition to their heavy duty springs.

I want the car to sit high, my question which springs? If any of you have photos that shows how the car sits and what’s springs you’ve used would be appreciated.

Thanks Billy.

I recently received new springs for my 1964 440 from General Spring out of New Century KS. Also using new spring hangers with the spring in the bottom hole. Unfortunately no pictures with full weight yet as it's still on jack stands waiting for my new u-joint to arrive.

Have been using Eaton Detroit Springs for over 20 years on many projects. They will build them the way you want.
Stock +1'' +2'' +3'' also lower than stock -1''-2''-3'' inches. They can adjust spring rate in lbs. Last set I ordered I went -2'' with a 100 lbs rate over stock on my 63 Belvedere.
My 2 cents .

If you are buying S/S springs from Mancini's, get two driver's side (Left) 3800 lb., (part # ends 455). Second leaf extends farther rearward to rear spring eye, giving more support to the main leaf to prevent early sag. The front segment, from axle locating pin to front spring eye is 1" shorter than your stock 1964 springs. To make up this difference, and locate your axle in the proper location, use the Plymouth S/S front spring hanger. The location hole on this hanger is 1" rearward, to make up the difference in spring length. Do NOT use the Dodge hanger, as it moves the spring eye hole 2" rearward and will not work. These spring conversions were engineered for 1966 - 1970 B-bodies that had slightly different unibody structure. S/S springs were engineered to make a racecar launch a certain way when purchased as a Left and Right set. They were never meant for passenger car use. The passenger side S/S spring sags prematurely in everyday use, because of its construction. I have done this on 2 1964 Polara's, and it works.
