interested to hear some opinions on this. A guy near me has a 64 plymouth sport fury hardtop max wedge 4 speed (black on black, killer!). If these are the real factory options (426 max wedge, 4 speed) this must be super rare right? Anyone have ideas of what this kind of car goes for in today's market? I drool every time I see this car and one day I just want to make an offer although it's not for sale....well maybe for the right money it is. For arguments sake let's say it's in drivers condition (7/10). Thoughts?

They're a dime a dozen, tell him I'll give him 1k for it.

We'll have to wait for the '64 xperts to give us some numbers. 23,695 V8 Sport Furys were produced. How many were Maxie's? How many were 4 spds?

    If it's a factory car it's worth quite a bit. t1951.gif

What's the condition of the car?

Big block stick 64's that are all original and nice are pretty hard to come by, all 'super rare'. Been watching these for about a decade now. 426 wedge cars were an option just like 383, no idea how many built. I don't believe the crossram deal was 'original' in 64.

Nice big block 4 speeds cars are +/- $30k. Originality, documentation, color, and condition drive prices northward and fast.

      Rare....

Right car, right color, right drivetrain and if all original$$$...Well the "right" buyers for this car are out there and would pay up significantly!

I do not know the numbers produced but it is safe to say it is very low.....

Would have to see underhood pics to verify max wedge originality. If original, running driving 7 out of 10, id say 35 to 50. Not a huge market but certainly people who want them.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to look into this more. Maybe I can grab a pic of the fender tag next time it's at a show. I see it around once in a while. If I learn more I'll post it up here.

Max wedge 4 speed car? Well its not gonna be original hemi levels, but its still gonna be at least 50,000 to 75,000. Not extremely rare, they made just over 200 Max wedge cars for Dodge and another 300 max wedge cars for Plymouth that year, but i bet production was under 100 cars combined with a max wedge and 4 speed. and most were to drag teams.

Getting rare today, though. Car is over 50 years old and a lot were cut up for dragstrip duty until there was nothing left and then thrown away.

Get a pic of the VIN on the car. All the Max Wedge VIN numbers are known, along with their options and colors.

Is it a 426 street wedge or a 426 Max Wedge? Some people don't realize the difference. It can change the value some tho.
