'64 Savoy slant post car

I am not saying your car is overpriced but in my eyes the value for the car I quoted would have to be media blasted completely disassembled all glass removed all metal wok completed for 15k. I not saying your car won't be a nice driver but not done like a 40k car needs to be.
I agree but I don't see a 64 Savoy slant car built into a what??? worth $40,000. Maybe some build such and sell for such. I guess if the end result was a hemi SS clone.
Yea I have done the media blast things years go with TAs, Hemi cars and some V code E bodies. Nothing else warranted that and the residue from such is more than I ever want. Not into that anymore! I build drivers for me and somedays I find I have more than enough on my plate so I just thin the herd.
Over the years I have bought many cars with bill of sale. I lived in Mo for 37 years and title there was so simple. Tx makes it a little bigger deal (annoyance) but I will get it titled when I have time.
I really did not start this as a "for sale" ad. Just asking informed opinions to what such cars are bring as done BB cars or projects.

I agree take 1/2 of what you have in one for value.[/QUOTEkk
Many a mopar has come and gone, from slants to hemis and all in between. I do all the work myself that is humanly possible. I have done more than a few and not made a nickel for my labor but I have never sold one at less than what I had in it, that is cost of project and parts and materials bought, and any labor I have to pay out. I am slow, for example, to pay for any engine rebuild unless I am sure it will add that value to the car. To many variables and too much BS with that. Maybe I am just lucky, maybe I don't over pay for projects. I try to keep in mind what any given car is worth at any point in it build. If I see I would be up side down, I would bail and let someone else continue on. Most people expect to have more $ in a build than they an ever recoup.
I enjoy the hunt for a project, and I enjoy the build, but I am just getting to old and woreout.
Yes I have chemical dipped, I have blasted, I have made some as perfect as anyone, but I did such, it had to be sold and recoup, I could never keep it and drive it and enjoy it. So I don't go to that extreme anymore. I cut out the rust, buy or fab panels, take down to bare metal, epoxy prime, blah blah blah. Just make a solid nice driver/ Time for supper:confederateflag::steering:!

I like the car and inquired about it but, it has no title and that was the biggest issue that kept me from further interest. Everyone says it's easy to get one... until you try it. Regardless of the parts, pieces and work that's in the car, if you want the right money for the car, the paperwork should at least be in order for the buyer...my 2 sense

It took a total of 7 weeks for me to get out of state paperwork so I could transfer ownership in my state

Shells or largely disassembled cars can be a nuisance for the buyer, mostly because the condition and presence of all the little pieces is unknown. It may look complete but be missing X,Y,Z and those will take 6 months and $1000 to buy. My opinion is that you’ll do much better selling a car in that shape if you clearly show that you have EVERY last little part, organized and labeled, screws in labeled bags etc.

A couple references for you. I bought my ‘64 SF for $14500 two years ago. 81000 original miles, completely original, window sticker, full history, title, 2nd paint job but decent. About a 3” diameter area of rot under bondo on one rear quarter. Complete perfect console interior. Original factory floor mat, factory tint etc.

Second reference, ‘65 Bel 1 /6 3 on the tree, I looked at. Dead stock, untouched original 80ish k miles. Little rot in the rears. Clean interior and paperwork. Guy was asking 11, could have taken it home for 8-9k.

These were both in CT.

Thanks for the comparables. By fall, I will have it titled, paint finished, all trim all car, most or all of interior finished. I can sell it, keep it, no big woop. If I sell off couple others cars may just keep it. Or trade it on a good 40's, 50's Mopar. I have the hot for a good driver. I have a 49 Dodge thats a project.
I know there are some nice solid cars in the NE but I admit that most of the ones I seen pics of, are really bad under the lipstick.

I have seen many early B Bodies but only a couple that didn't have rust issues and only one that did not have an issue with the cowl. How is the cowl in your 64.

I did have to replace some metal in cowl. Has a small patch on fender dogleg. Rear qtrs and wheel well and housing great. Replaced floor pan and center of truck. Our cars here compared to most rust belt cars, great frame rails and so much better underneath. Never seen an early B that did not need some floor or cowl like said.
I like the hunt for the old Mopars, I like building them, I like driving them, I hate the BS of selling them. Only reason I sell one, i that they can stack up and the wife would say "why and where do they come from" but she just thinks that!!
Good thing we don't live in the burbs!!!
