For 'real' max wedge cars, known as a white car, and pretty much only sold to sanctioned drag racers, I was told, and read...simply off the line, a bare car of the right type was picked, and pulled to be made a 'white car'. Called a white car, since all of them were painted white, so the buyer could paint as wanted.
Besides cramming the biggest motor into the car, it got all aluminum, from firewall forward, plexiglas windows, and a that year model bolt to the floor van single seat.
Anything can be made. Especially these days.
