My 65 Belvedere wagon started leaking fuel yesterday. I pulled the sending unit and the rubber seal looked good. I ordered a new one anyway. It looks like it was leaking from where the pickup tube goes through the ring plate. It is s little loose and I can twist it a little bit by hand. Is there a way to fix this? The wagon sending units aren't easy to come by.

Clean it good with a wire brush and solder it. Get some good solder for plumbing. Use flux.

Thanks, this is what I was wondering. Should I do both sides or is the outside good enough?

A good solder joint is just that. A poor joint will leak. I have made 10s of thousands of soldered joints over the past 50+ years, you cannot resolder a joint unless you start from scratch-it must be clean!
