what would be the best gear to use to get the most out of this poly 4 bbl if i want to have alittle fun gear wise....

You've got the key piece...the 4bbl manifold!

Do a search for Gary Pavlovich on this site and send him a Private Message. He has done much experimenting with these unsung power plants and has perfected varying combinations from all original to dual quad, 408cu Strokers. He is more than willing to talk with you about options and will provide help through your process. I ended up buying my parts from him as he gave me a better deal than others I checked (Eggy, Neilson's, etc.). He even called the machinist I used here in MD to ensure specific work that these motors repond to was properly performed. When it came time for me to assemble it, he was just a phone call away if I had questions. A very good all around experience and I now have a 'torqy' little odd ball that didn't cost me any more than rebuilding an LA small block.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Can you tell me exactly what kind of mods you made from stock. I am in the decision making process as to building my poly,or building a 383. What kind of horse power do you think your poly is making. I don't have allot of bucks to spend...but would like the most bang for my buck....Thanks....Bruce

I just went from 2.76 to 3.55's in my 64 Belvedere 318 poly, 4 bbl,TTI headers. and their dual exhaust.Internals stock.Thease engines are very torquey and responed well to the 3.55's. Next up grade will be valvesprings.
