Hi all
I needed to fit a complete set of parking brake cables to my 65 Coronet as it had none.
When we removed the drums we found that all the self adjusting hardware and the park brake lever was missing.
The only parts in there are the shoes, return springs, cylinder and adjustment screw. So just enough to get the brakes working.
I've been trawling the web to find diagrams and parts so I think I know what's needed. There's a surprising lack of suppliers for this hardware. I was about to order with Jim's Auto Parts when I spotted the warnings on this forum.
I guess I need all of the below. I'm looking at Classic Industries as they have everything listed although some parts seem to be for different years.

  1. Park brake levers (how much?).
  2. Park brake strut levers
  3. Brake shoe hardware kit
  4. Self adjusting hardware kit
  5. Brake shoes

Can someone please confirm that the self adjusting mechanism is standard on these brakes.
If anyone knows of an alternative supplier, please let me know as CI can be slow to process orders to the UK and are pricey on shipping.
Thanks a lot
Les

Hi all
Ok, I've found most of the parts I need at a combination of suppliers.
I just need to confirm the park brake actuator levers. They're only listed anywhere for 1968-75 in 10" drum. Anyone know if these will fit a '65?
Thanks
Les
