Hey guys, I have a quick engine question for the experts in the room. I am admittedly new to Dodges, so don't thrash me too hard if this is a stupid question!

I have a 65 Coronet w/ the factory Poly 318 and 3 speed auto tranny. i have a chance to get a clean 360 w/ T18 tranny at a good price. Both the engine and tranny came out of a 1972 Barracuda.
My question is: Is this a direct fit replacement for my current engine? Basically, will the motor and tranny mounts line up correctly?

Also, is this a pretty good motor swap for a little more power?

Thanks,
Shane

You will have a problem with the tranny!I think that is a comp. controlled trans! The eng will give you more power, not much for gas mileage though! A 3:23 gear is a good ratio too! The mounts shouldn't be a problem.use the early mtr. mounts you might have to use the cross member from the car the eng. & trans came out of!
