66/67 Hood Molding?

Is the hood molding the same for 66 & 67 Coronet?

Cross section is different.

66 is squared off as is the grille surround.

67 is rounded and comes to a point, as does that year grille surround.

Both are difficult to find in decent condition, but for some reason 67 is easier to find.

66 is repro'd, but it's $200+

Charger is different, too. Goes back farther (deeper) and attaches differently.

A 67 will bolt on to your 66, and is much better than nothing.

It will look good from across the street, and some people won't notice.

Closer than 10 ft with the hood closed is somewhat obvious.

I wouldn't pay top dollar for the wrong year part, though.

Ok...thanks again....I've found the 67's, but no 66 repop ones.....even on Ebay.....

no need to find a perfect one.a bit of minor hammer work,sanding and polishing will bring some pretty bad ones back from the dead.

That's what I'm most likely going to do. Carlisle show is coming up soon....Maybe I'll get lucky and find one there.
