66 Belvedere 1 restro

Hey cr8crhsr, I already had the 8 3/4. It was in my Satellite when I had the Hemi in it. Never had any problems but is was an automatic car. I plan on being a lot rougher on this one so a Dana 60 is probably in the near future. We'll see.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.

Im going with the 8 3/4 because i have it hear, or the most of it i guess under going media blasting along with leaf springs and then primer and paint, I hope im not rough enough at the time to be replacing it lol, The 60 would be a great gift but my wife is so very understanding that even she would draw the line there and tell me, wheeling and dealing with your buddy's is my best shot at it, sooo, 8 and 3/4 never was a bad one! :)

dash

Just finished my dash. Blasted it and repaired it where someone cut it for a aftermarket radio. My paint suppler was able to come up with the factory color for a red interior and some flat clear to give it the factory dull finish. Painted the pillar trim and headliner trim at the same time since they are also flat finish. Also found a good deal on a bright red dash pad and vinyl dyed it the right color for this interior color code. View attachment blasted dash.jpgView attachment painted dash.jpg

That came out well. I am currently trying to get my dash paint to match the original since I am not removing it. It is proving to be a bit difficult.

NICE...thats all I can say.

Glad to see another post car saved.
That's 3 I know of on our board in restoration total...anybody else got one?

My 64 Belvedere post is just coming apart now. It won't hit the rotiserie though until I put a couple of other cars into storage come September - Then it is full speed ahead.

interior

Finally got some stuff painted. Been working on the headliner and had to take a break. Starting to just bolt stuff on without restoring it because the local Mopar show is one month away. Trying to get this thing going under its own power.dash.jpg

I wish my steering wheel looked that good, I think u will make the show without too many hiccups.

motor install

Slung the Hemi into the engine bay this past weekend. Things are moving a little faster now.hemi in.jpghemi in2.jpg

It's a thing of beauty :eek:ccasion14:

However, that wrench on the battery is making me nervous.

jm8881, its a dummy battery but I do see your concerns. Good thing its only a 9/16.

Cool build! I have two 2 dr posts cars....one was bought over 25 years ago and got the other last December and both are projects but drove the first one for many years before tearing it apart.

Well I did not make the Mopar show. Cracked the front windshield and cant find one good enough to put in the car. There are new ones out there but they have that big wide tint across the top of the glass. Anybody had any luck buffing glass. I have found one that is for a 2 door post but it needs some work.

finally

O.K. I think I got everything bolted back on. Going on a test drive this weekend. Looks bad but maybe it will run good enough to forget about the looks.bel s1.jpgbel it1.jpgbel tl.jpgbel s 2.jpg

Looks like it's coming along fine!

It does look good from the picture, i don't really know just how thick its supposed to be put on, im sure some that has already done this could give you some advice.. Looks real good to be honest though!
How thick the coating was depended on who was doing it and their mood. My 66 was so thick with it that it filled up several 5 gallon buckets and there's still some on it but on the other hand, I've had cars that barely had any on it.

looking great, u gonna be at the show early? i'll be there early, k will come later.
