Hi. My -66 Dodge Charger have a factory Sway bar installed. They are fastened with brackets in front and the ends are fastened to the Strut Bar.

I want to upgrade the Front sway bar. do any have some to recommend? (My Lower control arm do not have mount for sway bar)

Thanks!

you have an early 66 car, you will need to either make some "L" brackets for the later bar, or change your lower control arms to later style

I've got the 1 3/4 bar for Hellwig (& 7/8 rear as well) good units, easy installs. I have the sway bar tabs so I didn't use the extra mounting hardware it came with but they look like good solid mounts. I can take some photo's of them if you want to see what the look like. My kits was for the 68 B-body, I think it was the 55903, as an FYI.

Thanks! That looks like a good sway bar. did it came with instructions for drilling holes for the mounting plate? i Cant find Hellwig rear sway bar on summitracing. Do you remember what number you had on the rear? Thanks

You shouldn't need to drill any holes, the kit that Malicious found should mount to the 2 front holes in pic#3.

Correct, no holes needed to be drilled for the Front sway bar. It mounted up to existing holes. Sorry I got your response last night after I'd left the garage, so I didn't get pics last night, but I'll get some pics of the brackets and the mount points for you tonight.

For the rear I used the 6909, Hellwig site says that it will fit the 66, but it doesn't seem to say the front bar will fit... I would of assumed the front would fit and the rear might not have? I guess my pics will help you decide if the front will fit. The rear DID need holes drilled on the chassis for the end links, around the leading edge of the kick up.

Depending on what you want out of the car, the rear bar from Firmfeel might be better. Hellwig and every other rear bar I found mounted to the rear end with end links to the chassis. The Firmfeel mounts the bar on the chassis and the end links go to the rear end. Not much difference really, but having the bar on the chassis means less unsprung weight. I got both hellwigs because I could ship them both from the one vendor (Summit) and save postage, which is MASSIVE to Australia. I'm not road racing so I probably wont even be able to tell.

6909: FYI Summit has it as only fitting the Charger, but it fits my Coronet perfectly, unsurprisingly. Personally when looking for parts on Summit I search charger and coronet, the results are often very different even though a majority of parts are the same. Laze web design.
