Good Morning Team FBBO- On another string, I have been getting coaching on a Brake Booster Issue. Thank you for those who helped. This is an original drum all the way around power brake car.

Perhaps I am trying to solve the wrong problem. I got a bit wrapped around the axel about being "original" to the car when I read a note from Dom and think he is right to question a Safety issue with using a Single Reservoir MC that was original to the car.

So question: What parts works to take this 66 Coronet with a Single to the safer double? What have folks used to make this switch? Best to you all, B.

I did my 66 w/PB drums. Bought a 67 drum master w/PB. You need a junction block from say 67 to 69 maybe others years that goes on frame rail. Fittings for master and junction box, If you junkyard the J box grab all the fitting from master. There are inverted flair fittings to adapt master down to 3/16" line. Be careful that the threads that screw into master don't bottom out before seating in master. First parts store I tried the fittings didn't seat in master.

I have an almost new one I'll be pulling this week.
Same thing 66 converted to a 67 master.
PM me if youre interested maybe shipping plus $10?

Thanks Fran, by chance do you have a pic of your PB booster/mc and the Junction Box? B.

I'd start an emai dialog with Dr Diff. He can put together a plug and play kit for you.

Thanks Bill, Dr. Diff? I love the idea of a Plug and Play. Got a Contact info for him? Best, B.

Hi Folks, just got back on. Hope this "stuff" goes away quickly. Best to you all. B.

I originally changed the master (Rock Auto) and added the junction block and lines they were an E-bay Kit. (https://www.ebay.com/itm/190829483923)
Now I'm doing a front end rebuild and adding disc brakes on the front along with a sway bar and gearbox. Phase 2.

Thanks Don was going to crawl under for a picture. Not now. Heads and exhaust get in the way.

Thanks Don, looks like you have the Kelsey Hayes PB Booster as I now have. I can not tell from this pic, do you have a small spacer/gasket between your PB booster and your MC? Best, B.

Don, the Spacer/Gasket between the Booster and the MC is called an "Air Cleaner Plate" in the SM. I wonder if yours has one? Best, B.

I have this MC I took off of my 67 Coronet, make me an offer on it if interested. One mounting stud is broken but they can be replaced.
I converted to Hydroboost and wont need it, I also have the distribution block at the shop.

My opinion, do yourself a favor leave the brakes the way they are inspect your lines maybe check your wheel cylinders but don't go through the heartache of trying to put an aftermarket disc brake kit into one of these B bodies I'm still struggling after 2 years I can finally start driving my car it's still it's hard to stop you can read a lot of stuff on here about it, its tough if you're going to do it read up on it do it right and don't be afraid to spend some dough but you don't need it you have a convertible enjoy the shows the nice days in Missouri you're not taking it down the track the brakes are fine , enjoy it , don't lay it up in the garage

Sorry that your conversion has been such a problem for you Joe, but I don't agree with you about keeping the drums. The first time somebody pulls something crazy in front of you you are really going to appreciate the disc brake system. You are right to either use the complete later model A body parts or deal with a reputable company such as Dr. Diff for a complete system, verses using a mix of components that will give you a headache. Remember, there's no shutdown area on the street...lol.

I'm not disagreeing Dave, but my 66 Satellite actually stops quite well with 10" drums and power assist.
Charger with manual drums not so good especially at highway speeds.
