Hello FBBO, this is my first post so bare with me. I have a 66 coronet who a mutual car guy was trusted to restore the car years ago for us. Well time moved on and he never restored it and then called us to come and get it and that he wasn’t going to finish it.

So, now that I have my car back I’ve been looking to restore it myself and put it back on the road. I plan on building a tip over jig using the front bumper mounts and rear but on the rear he filled in two holes that I need.

So after that long unnecessary post would someone be able to get me some measurements on the correct locations for the rear bumper mount holes? I don’t have the small reinforcement plates or a good bumper bracket to use as a template. Thanks in advance!

Can you look from the back and see where the holes were?

in your second photo there is dimple that looks like it might be a former bolt hole.
it's not easy to fill holes without a trace, if you sand on it they should appear

So my 66 Coronet is put together, but my 67 is apart. I'm pretty sure they should be the same, but others may be able to verify. In the second picture I just lowered the tape so you could see the lip on the piece of metal above it that I was hooking the end of the tape on. I hope this helps but let me know if any more pics are needed.

I just brought home my 66 that is pretty much a painted shell. I need to start pulling parts from my 4 door parts car (hopefully later today). I plan to start with the rear bumper and brackets. Not sure what I will find behind the bumper but if it is in good shape, I can cut those reinforcement brackets off the body for you. My "good" car already has them.

Thanks for the speedy replies. I’ll give sanding a shot but I think he replaced the whole valance, I can see some shoddy welding on the backside in areas. I appreciate the help, I’ll be pretty regular here for awhile.

I looked but I believe he replaced the entire piece of metal across that span.
That's what it looks like to me too. Yours doesn't have the flange/lip between where the holes should be and the fender. You can see it in Iroc78's pictures. On my 66 the lip/flange isn't flat up against the panel. It sits at about a 45 degree angle, off the flat piece. Should know what the four door's back piece looks like in a few hours.
