I played hooky from school and was delivering mail with my dad on his mail route. We came across this beauty and I had to have her. Dad said "go ask if it is for sale". The old man on the front porch was that old guy that sold Christine! Ok...not really but he was a creepy old man just like him!
He said "what is a 12 year old boy gonna do with a car like that?" I said "fix it, drive the wheels off it!"
"How much for the car?" , he said "50 bucks", I said "SOLD!". Ran to the car, begged dad for a 50 spot and towed her home with a rope. We didn't even finish delivering the mail! Dad said "they'll get the mail tomorrow".
I fixed her up, got my license, drove her for 2 years and parked her when I bought my 1971 Z28.
She has sat on the same Sears Road handlers for 34 years holding air. Brought her home this past October and started buying parts and pieces for the upcoming restoration!
